January 2022 Campus Update and Guidelines
Students in the Med and EBS programs will be required to return to St. Kitts for the January 2022 semester. ARP will continue to be taught online but ARP students have the option to return to campus to use all facilities, support services (including access to faculty), and to make use of all that the island of St. Kitts has to offer.
Students traveling to St. Kitts for January should start planning now. We understand that some students may encounter difficulty in arranging flights to arrive prior to the start of classes. In those specific cases, we can make adjustments if necessary, but everyone should be here and in class (including any quarantine) by no later than the end of the second week of the semester. Students that encounter delays should contact the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Mungli, for further coordination and approval for late arrivals.
We currently have a significant number of students on campus and welcome any student that would like to return this semester. We highly recommend those going into ICM 1 and anatomy consider this option seriously as the hands-on experience is invaluable.
In-person classes have been a success in St. Kitts this semester. Our faculty and students are fully vaccinated and are greatly benefiting from an in-person education. We have implemented a stringent COVID protocol on campus which has kept our students safe and healthy. Students have full access to the entire campus as well as all the support services and faculty advisement. Those on Island also benefit from the hands-on personalized education in the various courses such as Anatomy, ICM, and Physical Diagnosis. Research opportunities are still available for those on campus. Students have full access to our Learning Resource Center as well as the library and Learning Management System.
The university will be replacing our entire network, fiber optics and cabling this semester. Once completed our network will be more reliable, 10 times faster, and very secure. We are also finalizing our plans for a pedestrian bridge which we hope to have final government approval shortly. The pandemic has given us a great opportunity to further develop and modernize the campus for the eventual return of students.
Although COVID has continued to spike in St. Kitts, the vaccination effort has been aggressive, and the government now offers both the Pfizer and AstraZeneca vaccinations. Restrictions have been reduced which has positively impacted local businesses. To keep the country safe, the government has imposed a vaccination requirements for all those entering St. Kitts. In addition, visitors must also have a Negative PCR test within 72 hours of arrival. Those arriving must go into quarantine for 24 hours and then receive a negative PCR test. Quarantine must be at government approved facilities. We have been able to negotiate special rates for quarantine sites including the Park Hyatt. The housing department can provide further details on quarantine options. Below are the most current COVID regulations from the government of St. Kitts.
St. Kitts Restriction on Regional and International Travelers.
Subject to the applicable Travel Protocols established pursuant to the COVID-19 (Prevention and Control) Act, all travelers shall be required to submit official proof of a negative RT-PCR test taken 72 hours prior to entry into Saint Christopher and Nevis.

Pursuant to sub-regulation (2), a non-resident traveller shall be required to produce proof of full vaccination upon arrival in order to enter in Saint Christopher and Nevis.
Notwithstanding sub-regulations (1), (2), (6) and (7) all cruise passengers and personnel shall (a) in the case of a fully vaccinated person, provide proof of a negative RT-PCR test or antigen test taken 72 hours prior to entry into Saint Christopher and Nevis; or (b) in the case of a person who is not fully vaccinated, provide proof of a negative RT-PCR test taken 72 hours prior to entry into Saint Christopher and Nevis, and may be allowed entry within a COVID-19 approved bubble.
All citizens and residents of Saint Christopher and Nevis shall be permitted entry irrespective of their vaccination status.
Notwithstanding the provisions of the COVID-19 (Prevention and Control) Act, all arriving travelers who are fully vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus (a) shall remain in a government approved COVID-19 Hotel or quarantine facility for a period of twenty-four hours and a COVID-19 test sample would be taken within that period; or (b) may quarantine at a private residence certified by the National COVID-19 Taskforce, with the written permission of the Chief Medical Officer in consultation with the Commissioner of Police and shall remain in quarantine for a period of twenty-four hours and a COVID-19 test sample would be taken within that period; and (c) shall only be released from quarantine upon receiving a negative RT-PCR test.

MCAT Waiver Extended for January 2022 Applications
We understand that COVID-19 has impacted many students in taking the MCAT exam. As a result, we will consider your application without the MCAT if you have been unable to take the exam. Students that have taken the exam or are scheduled to sit for the exam must submit their scores.
All students who are accepted without an MCAT must attest that they were unable to take it due to COVID-19. The MCAT will only be waived for the January 2022 term. The MCAT will not be waived for any future terms after that.
